Confirm public access before travelling

Current public opening hours, a reopening date and mausoleum admission charges have not been confirmed from QMMB. Senate releases of 8 July and 7 August 2026 discuss access restrictions and security arrangements for reopening; they do not establish a current visiting schedule. Do not assume that the gardens, mausoleum building and museum have the same access.

Information reviewed 29 October 2026. This is an uncertainty notice, not a declaration that every part of the complex is closed today.

Hours, tickets and a visit plan

Ask about each area

Before arranging transport, ask whether the mausoleum building, gardens and Aiwan-e-Nawadrat-e-Quaid-i-Azam museum are admitting ordinary visitors, which gate is in use and whether a ceremony or security restriction affects your date.

Confirm the full cost

No current mausoleum price has been verified. Ask about admission, museum and parking charges separately; a museum fee notice does not establish the price of the mausoleum visit. Do not treat a paid tour or transport advertisement as an official entry ticket.

Check practical access

Confirm step-free access, permitted belongings, screening, toilets and available drinking water for your group. These facilities have not been independently verified as continuously available. Bring water and allow flexibility in your plans.

Photography and respect

Follow QMMB’s rules and staff instructions. Its photography licence terms require visitor consent and restrict photography into the mausoleum. The photograph used here does not grant permission to photograph visitors or enter restricted areas.

A national memorial in Karachi

The federal Department of Archaeology and Museums identifies the white-marble mausoleum as federal property protected under the 1971 Ordinance. Its inventory attributes the design to Yahya Merchant in the 1960s and records completion in 1971. QMMB manages the memorial and surrounding precinct.

Dates in the inventory describe the monument’s construction, not a current opening announcement. Ceremonial visits or photographs do not prove unrestricted public access.

Separate visits, separate arrangements

The mausoleum, its museum and the wider Karachi itinerary are distinct plans. If access is not confirmed, choose another activity after checking that venue’s own opening information. This guide does not guarantee a combined walk, nearby attraction opening, transport service or a timetable for guard ceremonies.

Location and getting there

Muhammad Ali Jinnah Road, Central Jacob Lines, Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. The map point identifies the complex, not an approved entry gate. Confirm the current gate with QMMB and agree a lawful drop-off and collection point with your transport provider.

Questions before a visit

Is Mazar-e-Quaid open now?

We have not confirmed a current public schedule or reopening date from QMMB. The Senate discussed restrictions and reopening arrangements in July and August 2026. Contact QMMB before travelling; access to one part does not guarantee access to the rest.

Is entry free, and what does a ticket cost?

Free admission is not confirmed, and no current mausoleum tariff has been verified. Ask QMMB about mausoleum entry, the museum and parking separately. This guide sells no tickets.

Where is it and who manages it?

The mausoleum is in central Karachi on Muhammad Ali Jinnah Road. Quaid-i-Azam Mazar Management Board (QMMB) is the government management authority; this website is an independent guide.

Who designed the mausoleum?

The federal archaeology inventory names Yahya Merchant, places the design in the 1960s and records completion in 1971. The memorial is the resting place of Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Can I take photographs?

Do not assume unrestricted photography. Check QMMB’s current rules and any licence requirements, obtain consent before photographing visitors and follow restrictions on photographing into the mausoleum.

Official sources were reviewed on 29 October 2026. The July/August Senate releases are dated evidence of restrictions and planning, not proof of today’s gate status.
